If you're looking for an inexpensive Visual Studio 2008 refactoring add-in that
performs many essential refactorings at a price point significantly lower than ReSharper,
MojabSoftware's new Smarties 2008 (goofy name, notwithstanding) may be your ticket
to getting the job done. After reviewing the list of core features, I have to say
that I'm impressed by the breadth of both refactorings and timesavers packed into
the $46US package.
Their business model is a simple application of the
Pareto Principle
(80-20 rule). It's probably worth a closer look if you're on the fence and for the
price probably a no-brainer if you don't need all the extra shiny stuff from ReSharper.

I've missed it, but two days ago Smarties 2008 v1.0 has been released. This is a
new productivity plug-in for Visual Studio, with lots of useful refactorings, and
strong emphasis on managing #regions. There are quite a few screencasts on the website,
so better go and check them out for yourself. The tool is not free, but very reasonably
priced, and there's a trial version. Highly recommended.

I use IntelliCommands every day at work. I often use the Encapsulate field related
commands, the Business Object Generator commands this is a great helper to create
new class, Smart Interfaces and more. IntelliCommands does not reduce the Visual
Studio performance unlike other similar products on the market. I really like IntelliCommands
and how it saves me time.
